Small Caps Big Ideas 2024 - Retail Food Group

This week Retail Food Group CEO, Matthew Marshall presented at Small Caps, Big Ideas alongside Larry Gandler, Senior Analyst of Shaw and Partners. In this interview, Matt and Larry review Retail Food Group's performance to date, future growth opportunities and strategic priorities for the FY25-FY26 period.

Larry says "...We have a buy rating on Retail Food Group. Our valuation is ten cents, it is just a little bit under seven, so quite a bit of capital appreciation."

In this 20 minute deep-dive interview  with AusBiz, Matt shares how opportunities for growth across RFG brands are reviewed through a lens of scale, simplicity and customer centricity. He discusses the business strategy for growth and innovation for Beefy's and Donut King Occasions, as well as upcoming name change to Savora Brands, pending a November AGM meeting approval. 

On growing the network and ease of operation for franchise partners, Matt explains "...we don't have huge labour lines, we've got small footprint stores, so they're accessible from a site aspect....Our stores tend to be half a million dollars or lower for the franchisee to get in and set up and operate...our training models are very simple for how we operate those systems." All elements of the Retail Food Group model that makes growth via new Franchisees and Multi-Store Operators simple and sustainable.
